Waste Methane Management in Asia report

Released on World Environment Day 2026, a six-country comparative analysis of waste methane management across Asia was released, which highlights the policies, progress, and challenges shaping methane mitigation efforts across the region. The report was released during a webinar co-hosted by EPIC India, Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC), the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), and WRI Indonesia.

EPIC India contributed to this important publication, including the India chapter, which examines the country’s waste methane landscape, recent policy and infrastructure advancements, and the opportunities to strengthen data, financing, governance, and implementation. The report underscores how collaborative action and evidence-based solutions can help accelerate methane reduction while supporting cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable cities across Asia.
