Abating Delhi’s air pollution: Insights from the IIT Kanpur study
The Delhi government commissioned IIT Kanpur to conduct a comprehensive study to measure contributions from different sources of particulate matter pollution, and to recommend a time sensitive action plan. Source contributions vary between the summer and winter, with the two most consistent sources for PM2.5 in both seasons being secondary particles and vehicles. Prof. Mukesh Sharma will discuss findings from their study and the effectiveness of various pollution control measures.
