Vikas Choudhary is an Assistant Research Manager at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC India), specialising in energy and environmental economics, applied econometrics, and operations research. A physicist-turned-economist, he is a doctoral candidate in Energy Economics at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), where he also completed his M.Phil. in Development Studies with a specialisation in Energy Economics.
At EPIC India, Vikas contributes to research in environmental economics with a focus on industrial decarbonisation and market-based policy design. His work involves benchmarking global best practices, evaluating their applicability to the Indian context, and supporting the design of market mechanisms aimed at reducing industrial emissions and improving environmental outcomes across states in India.
