As Technical Lead (Air Pollution), Gargee provides technical leadership and project management support on EPIC India’s collaboration with the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) in mitigating Delhi’s Air Pollution. In this role, Gargee provides policy support in co-designing new research ideas and synthesizing evidence from GNCTD project streams, facilitating expert consultations and technical dialogues with government officials.
Prior to joining EPIC India, Gargee worked as a Senior Associate on the Energy, Environment and Climate Change team at J-PAL South Asia, where she led the design, implementation, and scale-up of India’s first particulate emissions market in Surat, Gujarat. As part of the process, Gargee provided strategic and implementation support to the Government of Gujarat in improving the enforcement of environmental regulation by building the first Continuous Emissions Monitoring infrastructure for Industries across the State. Gargee has also previously worked on evaluations across Labour and Gender in J-PAL South Asia; as well as in Urban Sanitation and Macroeconomic Research at the Center for Policy Research in Delhi.
Gargee holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Warwick, and a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Delhi.
