• Experiment improves regulation in Gujarat, reducing pollution

  Gujarat authorities partnered with EPIC researchers to implement and test reforms that gave auditors of polluting plants the incentives to report accurate pollution readings. The reforms led to more accurate reporting, and reduced pollution by 28 percent. Learn More >

• Did Odd-Even clean Delhi’s air? Analysis evaluates

  EPIC-India analyzed pollution data before, during and after the implementation of Delhi’s Odd-Even scheme and found that the pilot program did reduce pollution by 13 percent during the cold weather months. Learn More >

• Study finding pollution cuts most Indian lives by three years leads to more effective civil penalties

  In a study of India’s pollution, EPIC researchers found compliance with Indian air quality standards would save millions of lives. The analysis called for a greater reliance on civil penalties to provide polluters with an incentive to reduce pollution.
